I have been growing my hair out for the last 2-3 years, which means extra care. Now I have long, wavy hair, and lots of it, which can make it hard to keep it healthy and strong, especially in below-freezing temperatures.
I have tried several brands of argan oil to help me keep the length and ends nourished and fight frizz in high-humidity, and though I am willing to spend a bit for a good product, I found that most of them were not worth the price: the hair was just oily, but didn't really seem nourished. There were no flyaways, but I also had to shampoo more often, which tends to dry out strands - so i was reaching the opposite effect from the one I was shooting for. Also, several brands (including the over-hyped, overpriced one with the blue lable, you know the one) have an unpleasant sticky texture and have added fragrance, which I don't like because I have a sensitivity to synthetic fragrance.
When I came across Pura D'or, I was pleased to find a product that was organic, with no fillers or additives, and I was intrigued by the fact that it claimed it could be used on face and body, as well. So I tried it, and I wasn't disappointed.
First, I tried some on my hands. And wow, my hands, dry from the cold, became really soft and stayed that way for days. That gave me the courage to try it on my face. Again, WOW. I have combination skin, so I am leery of oils, but a few drops of Pura D'or on my face 3 times a week seem to have done something to rebalance my skin so it is now more even in texture. I have tried countless products on my face, and I have only had this result with a product from the Perricone MD line, a product that I love but I cannot afford to use on a regular basis. This? I originally got hooked on argan oil by trying Josie Maran's formula and I loved the way it made my skin feel...but it was way too expensive to justify the continued use. I read a review on here to try this product and I'm so glad I did.
First, the concept of putting oil on your face made me cringe, but all the testimonials seemed like it could be a good thing. I'm in my mid-thirties, but people continually think I'm in my twenties. This product moisturizes and hydrates your face, but will not clog your pores. In fact, when I get a zit, this seems to make it go away faster...no multiple days of zits and piling zit creams on at night to hope that they are lessened the next day. This stuff really helps. AND my pores are minimalized along with the lines around my eyes and bags under my eyes being almost non-existant.
Secondly, what I love about this specific product is that it is cheaper than other brands AND it comes with a pump. Josie's comes with a dropper - which is hardly effective in getting a consistent amount on your hands to smooth on your skin. To me, that makes this product something I never want to be without.

I, along with everyone else I imagine, hear all kinds of stuff about "miracle products". Those that do everything, it seems, except your laundry and your dishes. Then a new one comes along, and the other one is mostly forgotten about. However, argan oil has been news for long enough that I was finally beginning to get curious about its supposed benefits. So when I was offered some to try, I accepted.
I have extremely dry, sensitive skin. There are very, very few products that I can use on my face that won't end up causing some sort of reaction. The rest of my body, while not as sensitive, is still very dry. I tried the Pura D'or Argan Oil on my body first, and loved how easily it absorbed without feeling greasy. It has a very light, almost nonexistent, smell - nice, because I'm not too fond of products that smell like they were created in a cheap perfume factory.
As for my face - I hesitantly applied a small bit to one section of my face and waited for the redness and burning to commence. When, after 30 minutes, there were no signs of either, I applied it the rest of my face before I went to bed. When I woke up in the morning, my face felt soft and supple, and there were no signs of any dry skin patches. I have used this product on my face since then, and am so pleased! I love not having to use the overly processed facial creams in order to keep my skin from freaking out on me!
I have not tried most of the myriad other ways that argan oil can be used, but the fact that my skin is doing so well with it is all I really need. I heartily recommend this to anyone who has skin issues similar to mine - I think you will be just as pleased as I have been.
